SigmaRoc – A Specialist Quarried Materials Group

SigmaRoc PLC is a specialist quarrying group that invests, improves, integrates and innovates companies within the quarried materials space in Europe.

The group invests in high quality quarries that allow us to extract low and high grade materials for use in construction, agriculture, environmental and industrial applications.

The group consists of 3 geographically defined core regions, the North East, West and North West. Within each region businesses are grouped by product types. GD Harries forms part of the North West region with a focus on the production of construction minerals including aggregates, asphalt and contract services.

As part of the SigmaRoc group, GD Harries are committed to sustainability and dedicated to Environmental, Social and Governance matters. SigmaRoc have implemented a series of specific policies, which are fully embraced by all the staff at GD Harries.

SigmaRoc operate using a decentralised business model which encourages a family approach of being local and personally known to our customer base. This is particularly important with construction materials which are a local product, consumed and produced locally, due to their high mass to price ratio. Each local market is different, with its own particularities, commercial pressures and local history, and the businesses within the group are managed with autonomous local managers who understand the requirements of their local markets.
