Last week we said farewell to two of our Ready-Mix drivers and presented them with a retirement gift as a token of the company’s appreciation. We recognised Robert Smith for his 30 years of loyal service, and thanked Kenny Swan for his 5 years’ service.On behalf on GD Harries we’d like to wish them both a happy retirement.

Find out how nappies are being recycled and used for revamping roads and reducing waste. Watch Wales on the One Show on BBC One Wales this Sunday 29th September at 4:30 pm.We have used Nappicycle as part of several road surfacing projects and are excited with the possibilities . By using waste nappies, the amount going to landfill and the overall carbon footprint is reduced as the use of new materials is minimised. The recycled nappy fibres will hopefully lead to the creation of stronger and longer-lasting roads.#nappicycle #sustainableroadsurfacing

We had an excellent turnout for our Swansea Bay Asphalt plant open day on Friday. It was great to see so many of our customers and friends, and to give them a firsthand look at the plant's advanced features and capabilities.Thank you also to Carolyn Harris, MP for Neath and Swansea East, for sparing the time to be with us on the day and to carry out the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.To achieve our sustainability goals and help our customers achieve theirs, the plant is capable of adding 25% Rap, uses NappiCycle fibres and will soon be working with MacRebur Limited.The plant's strategic location, just 5 minutes off junction 43 of the M4 will enable a faster and more efficient service to local authorities and contractors in South Wales.#asphalt #swansea
